Events

All members and prospective members are welcome to attend our regular Monthly Meetings.

These meetings are held at 2.00pm on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at The Gardeners Hall, 213 St Leonards Rd, Windsor, SL4 3DR

Talks at recent Monthly Meetings have covered a wide range of interesting subjects including: The life of a 'Town Crier'; George Bernard Shaw; From Pageant to Pop - the history of music in London; Jane Austin; The Curious disappearance of Major Glen Miller; The Venetian Connection; Its not what you say - how Body Language speaks louder than words; and many other topics.

Here are a some of the other events that are open to all U3A Members:

  • Ballroom and Latin Dancing, for beginners, improvers and anyone who would like some gentle exercise. It takes place EVERY FRIDAY at 2 p.m. in Gardeners’ Hall. There is a £3 entrance fee. Please wear smooth soled shoes. Everyone welcome - see Ballroom and Latin Dancing Group page.
  • Lunch Club, usually about 2 hours on the 1st Thursday starting at 12.30. Booking required - see Lunch Club page.
  • MOTO = Members On Their Own, meetings by arrangement, lunches, trips to places, matinees, talks etc - see MOTO page.
  • Opera, on 4th Friday at 2pm, screening of filmed opera performances in Beaconsfield hosted by South Bucks U3A - see Opera group page.

A Windsor U3A Holiday, ‘The Four Passions: The Play, The Chocolate, The Cheese, The Wine’
THE OBERAMMERGAU PASSION PLAY
The world-famous Oberammergau Passion Play is traditionally performed every 10 years. Its history
dates back to 1633, when plague swept Bavaria and many lives were lost. The elders of the village
vowed that if the village was purged of plague, they would perform the ‘Play of the Suffering, Death
and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ’ every 10 years.
By air from Heathrow to Munich and return
Early booking is essential
(We have managed to reserve 30 seats for Windsor U3A members, at the performance on 16th June 2020)
