Next meeting 5th April.

Bring along your own project and spend a sociable morning with like-minded folk. We have spinners and weavers, knitters and crocheters, those who sew and those who make lace and numerous others .... If this sounds like the group for you or you would like advice in starting a craft do come along. We pay a small hiring charge per person each time but there is coffee, tea, biscuits and friendly encouragement too.

See the Groups Bulletin for details.

Previous meetings

  • December - Group members brought knitting and weaving and enjoyed the opportunity to talk and browse through some festive biscuits.
  • November - the politics of fabric and how clothes reflect the power and powerlessness of different groups in society.
  • September - knitting and sewing, spinning and weaving, an experiment in painting using the non-dominant hand and needle felting.
  • August - members continued with their own projects, including knitting, weaving, and lace making
  • July - visit to the home and studio of local textile artist Wendy Erskine, featuring a tour of her craft making facilities in the newly renovated outbuilding on her croft. We learnt about fleece preparation, combing and carding, dyeing, spinning, weaving and felting, and then had a walk around the area where her sheep are kept.
