On the afternoons of December 16th and 17th 2018 Members of the Wigan U3A ukelele group took part in a charity fundraising event Stephen had organised at Sainsburys Wigan store.
We all had a great time performing an assortment of Christmas carols and decided it was much better than Christmas shopping!
Members of the public were amazing, dancing to the music and a few joined in the songs.
A grand total of £1019.54 was raised for Wigan Hospice.

The Ukulele group is making steady progress and we are now looking forward to our first performance at the December member’s meeting. We’re looking to roll out a song that has been written by members of our group as well of a couple of other home grown specialities.
Quite a few of us took advantage of Wigan Ukulele Clubs beginner’s course and this has definitely helped in the confidence and ability departments.
The first winner of the prestigious Strummer of the Month Award was won by Kath who’s enthusiasm was a joy to behold as she strummed and sang with glee.
It now sits on her fireplace.
Meetings will be a bit jumbled in the run up to Christmas with Robert hosting the next one at the White Horse on the 22nd November. I’ll E-mail out details. Contact %Stephen Corless% to be added to the mailing list.
