The University of the Third Age (u3a) is a network of educational, creative, leisure and social activities organised for, and by, its retired and semi-retired members. The u3a subscribes to the ethic of lifelong learning and is for those who are retired, semi retired or no longer in full time employment.

Whittlesey and District u3a is registered with the Third Age Charitable Trust and has been active since May 2015, supporting a variety of pursuits and activities. There is an element of learning in everything we do, from improving language skills to walking or cycling in the countryside. You will never sit examinations or get to wear a mortar board and no certificates are on offer, just the satisfaction of exercising minds and limbs in the company of other good friends.

Members from a wide area around Whittlesey enjoy social activities that include outings, events, and theatre trips. Interest groups range from walking to paper-crafting to creative writing, all run for and by our members. (Find a full list on our Groups page.) Some interest groups are free, others have small charges to cover the hire of premises and materials. Our annual subscriptions are modest (see Membership - new members) for details and a printable membership form.

If you are interested in finding out more about Whittlesey and District u3a come along to our monthly open meeting at Childers on the third Thursday of each month at 2pm, with no obligation to join. ("Taster" on offer for one meeting.) Enjoy our guest speaker or entertainer, have a cuppa and biscuit and meet our members over a convivial chat before deciding if it is for you. Whether you are a couple, widowed, or single and seeking company, be assured of a very warm welcome.

More information about joining and a new members application Form can be found on our Links Page.
Meanwhile, join us on our Whittlesey u3a Facebook page for articles, blogs and local chat.
