Change Ringing on Handbells
Change ringing on handbells is an exercise in making patterns in sound. Although the sound is pleasant to listen to, there are no tunes as such. The ringers “weave” their bells together in patterns which are referred to as methods. It uses the same methods as church tower bells.
Change ringing is usually done on 6 or 8 bells. We have 8 bells to use, but learners will start on 6, as learning the principles is easier with a smaller number of bells. Each ringer will ring 2 bells.
As with any skill, regular practice is essential. e use 2 sets of borrowed handbells. For more information please use the Contact Link.
