Past and Present - History Group
Whickham and District u3a’s History Group is called 'Past and Present. 2nd Thursday of the month 10am -12 noon.
This group was started during the lockdowns and met only on Zoom researching information to produce PowerPoint presentations, such as the Mitford Sisters, Heroines of the North East, Steaming into History, A Neet on the Toon, which were shown to all Whickham and District u3a members that accessed the Zoom main meetings.
As life moves forward the Group now has re focused and is meeting face to face in a member's house in Whickham.
The next project which will start October 2022 will be the Past and Present of famous people who were born, worked lived in Whickham. When the project is complete a presentation will be made to Whickham and District u3a members at the main meeting in Sunniside Club.
