West Pennine Villages

Craft and Chat

{Craft group during Covid19} and beyond
The meeting on12th October was great. Ten of us exchanged ideas and it was interesting to see the variety of crafts. Pat Fleming brought some of her beautiful quilts and is hopefully going to do a workshop for us in the new year.

The Craft & Chat will meet on the second Tuesday of the month if allowed.

Next meeting is on November 9th at the Club from 2.00-4-00pm. Christmas Decorations.
I hope as many of you as possible will be able to attend. When we use the Club we have to pay for the room so I need to know how many will be able to come. I have mentioned below about making this a regular monthly get together.
The group hopes to explore lots of crafts and look forward to sharing skills in a social atmosphere.

In November Kay will lead us with Christmas decorations. Venue at the Club unless numbers are too low.

Have you a drawer or a room full of unfinished projects that you have no time or inclination to complete?
Bring it along to the monthly Craft & Chat Unfinished Objects group and have some company a brew and time to complete it. If you are stuck maybe find some help or inspiration. This will be on monthly visits when a workshop is not planned

FELTING WORKSHOP

Jackie hosted another wet felting workshop in February.

The group, using a selection of her beautiful wools and under her expertise completed , as if by magic, a felt pot.

BEGINNERS CROCHET

Crochet 3 Crochet 3 b

Hello everyone.
Thanks for coming along to my third crochet lesson.
Two people were first timers and grappled with making a foundation chain, learning about a turning chain and then conquering double crochet stitch. A difficult task but they got there!
Three people came showing some granny squares that they had accomplished as homework! They learnt how to make a round foundation ring then double crochet a circle while learning to increase on every other row using a mathematical formulae which caused great hilarity and confusion on my part!
We are now meeting on a Friday from 1.00 - 3.00pm .
Hopefully this group will be able to start up again soon.

Any questions, or if you would like to join us please email me on wpvu3acrochet@gmail.com

What an afternoon! Beginners Crochet was hilarious as we all valiantly'double crocheted' and 'slip stitched our way to produce a fastening bag to hold a phone, tissue packet or that essential spare tea bag. Throughout Sue admirably untied our knots and rediscovered those missing stitches and encouraged us to achieve. A brilliant afternoon - Thank you Sue! session 2 was a recap and an introduction to reading a pattern and making sense of htr dc tr
