Do you wonder who your ancestors were, and how they lived , worked and died?
If so, the Family History Group is for you, and it can get very addictive. There will be surprising revelations ahead.
The sessions will be hosted at Brinscall Hall Bungalow, Dick Lane, Brinscall, by Audrey and Steve Perry, and will be twice a month in the Autumn and Winter: probably monthly after that. The only costs will be for refreshments and any documents you wish to print .
We aim to discuss, work together and individually to explore
-the different sources of information available
-how to check the accuracy of historical records
-how to problem solve
-how to get in touch with relatives you never knew you had
It would be useful if you could bring to the first meeting some information about at least one person in your family- A year and place of birth, parents’ and/or siblings’ first and last names are all good.
It would be helpful, but not essential, to bring a laptop or tablet to each session. Plus, of course, old-fashioned notepad and pen.
We may be able to go as a group to use the facilities of local Family History societies – eg Astley Hall- and we can offer help with accessing local studies and archives.
Looking forward to discovering with you.
