Sharing Travel Adventures

In the Sharing Travel Adventures group we aim to hold some illustrated talks as well as more informal discussions which are:-

INTERACTIVE! LIVELY! INVOLVING! MEMORABLE!

The meeting topics will be chosen and run by the members. It is a social group where we can learn about new places and ways of travelling, plus share our own experiences. It is an idea that springs out of the recent Adventures in the Antarctic talk and travel groups set up by other U3As.

Members can do short interactive talks on countries and places of interest, sharing ideas and discussing passions. Typical meeting topics could include far flung adventures such as exploring Japan and trekking through India, or equally be something closer to home, around the UK and Europe. Experiences of travelling could be a theme, including volunteering whilst travelling, sustainable travel and hints and tips on the ever popular motor home. Another variation could be “Tales and Memorabilia” - a meeting when several members relate an experience or talk about an artifact brought back from their travels. It can be whatever we want it to be.

Essentially it is about having fun, planning new adventures and sharing passions. Initially we’ll try this once a month with the first planned in the new year at my home. I am happy to share my adventures in Japan to start the ball rolling.
