Invited speakers and social events

Speaker Meetings:

On the first Wednesday of every month we will invite outside speakers to talk on a wide variety of topics ranging from local history and international adventure, to interesting hobbies and expertise. Talks will normally be held in Withnell Fold Sports and Social Club, between 11-12 am, unless otherwise stated. All West Pennine Villages U3A members are welcome. There is a £2 admission charge and refreshments will be provided.

Please note: there is no speaker meeting on Wednesday 1st January 2020

Bridgewater Hall Tour:

Please see below details of a guided tour of Bridgewater Hall, scheduled for 10th January 2020 at 2pm. Places limited to 16. If you would like a place, PLEASE LET US KNOW BY 11th DECEMBER. You can sign up at the Wednesday drop-in (Social Events table) or click on the following link to send a message to Theatre Trips. Please indicate if you are interested in the brunch option also, or the tour only.

Some events may take place in venues with limited parking. If you are a Blue Badge holder and plan to attend an event or take part in an activity, please contact the group convenor or event organiser and we will endeavour to reserve a car parking space for you.

Fri Jan 10th 2020 Guided tour of Bridgewater Hall, Manchester (£6 per tour ticket + £12 for minibus).Tour 2pm -3.30 pm. For those interested, there is also brunch at £19 per head at the Midland Hotel prior to the tour. Please note, brunch is optional.(See Midland Hotel tea room website for brunch menu.)
