Poetry
Meets on 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month in Uphall Community Centre 10.00 a.m. - 12.00.
On the first Friday a subject is chosen in advance and members bring along poems on this subject to read out to each other. (Some in the group write their own verse.)
On the third Friday, which the group calls Poetry Plus, two members each select a poem. The others are told what these are and can read them in advance. Each of the “selectors” at that meeting talks briefly about the poem, poet or the background and reads the poem. The whole group then discusses it.
