Membership

Any person of the "Third Age" - after their First Age (childhood and education) and their Second Age (Adult working life) - may join U3A. Prospective New Members are welcome and may attend one or two meetings as visitors before deciding to join.

Membership is achieved by submitting a form (see link on right) and paying a fee, currently £5.00 per person, for that year. It is then renewable annually in January. This fee covers capitation to U3A Central Office which includes Public Liability insurance, and the general costs of administering West Lakes U3A.
There will be a small additional charge at most meetings to cover room hire, speakers fees and refreshments.

Membership information and details are held on a computer file, controlled by the Membership Secretary, for the purposes of recording membership and membership subscription, for storing contact details including e-mail addresses where available, so that members can be informed of any unforeseen changes in arrangements and for other routine communications.
The file is only available to relevant committee members and event organisers; the data is NOT released to any other organisation.

To comply with the General Data Protection Regulations each person is required to sign that they agree for their details to be held this way and used for the purposes above.

The quarterly Newsletter is distributed free to members at meetings, delivered by hand, or posted. To reduce postage costs we would like to e-mail members with Newsletters and annual membership forms.
