West Cheshire Rural

Historic Houses

This group was formed in 2010 and has over 20 members. At the start of each year we decide on the visits and dates for the forthcoming season. We try to visit a range of historic houses from Elizabethan Mansions to Edwardian Villas and anything in between! We make three or four visits a year, the last one towards the end of the year, is usually to somewhere holding a special Christmas event.
We travel by car so the distances involved are not great and we usually manage to have lunch at the venue or somewhere nearby.

Our next visit is to Chirk Castle. As it's decorated for Christmas, we thought it worth a visit. It's a National Trust property in North Wales about 25 miles from Tattenhall.
