West Bridgford U3A is a thriving group of retired and semi-retired people with a zest for life and an enthusiasm to keep going.
Please see the message from our chairman in the side bar
As dictated by the UK Government most activities, groups etc are running online where possible or on hold until further notice
Do look at individual groups to see who is able to offer any activities
Unprecedented times require special action
So for some groups, there are additional on-line activities for the interim
Pre COVID Informaiotn
We are based in the Baptist Church Hall at the junction of Musters Rd and Melton Rd; here you will find us engaged in a variety of activities throughout the months. Every day there is a busy programme of activities many of which are held in the Church Hall but we also use other venues to suit the group size.
A modest annual subscription, £12 p.a. (2021) is supplemented by some groups charging a minimum fee for hall usage and any other expenses they incur, the charge for Singing for Fun for example is £1. Where activities are not held in a fee charging place (a members home for example) then a small contribution for refreshments or photocopying might be made, but more often than not there is no charge.
More than 60 different groups provide the activities, all led by volunteers from the West Bridgford U3A, group numbers vary but with a membership of more than 700 the aim is to ensure we try to provide as many different things as possible to suit everyone.
Welcome to you, if you are an existing member, this site should provide up to date information on current events; if you are considering joining our U3A do look to see what is on offer and if you wish to ask specific questions these can be answered by a committee member or group leader all of whom have provided contact information.
There is also the contact area where you can email questions to specific people.
We are not alone, there is the national association of U3A's, a link to their site can be found by following the U3A link on the main bar.
We are also part of the Association of East Midlands U3As, and a link to their website can be found on this page.
Both national and regional U3As offer activities for you to join.
There are several U3A's in the Nottingham area, any which have a web page also have a link from this site, check them out too.
The FREE Courses link on the side bar is a recent addition, January 2020, this Australian U3A site has some fascinating courses to do at home alone or with other people and a tutor. Check them out, they are all FREE.
