To study the language and culture of Ancient Rome, in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. To persuade those who didn't like it much first time around that Latin can be enjoyable and interesting. There will be homework, but no learning by heart!
The group will use the Cambridge Latin Couse, Book 1, Fourth edition as a focus of our studies.
Second Wednesday, 10 - 12 am at St Mary's.
Please contact Convenor regarding spaces in the group.
Can you translate the following carols/Christmas songs -
Regis olim urbe Davide
O Diem Christi album somnio
Tinniant. Tinniant tintinnabula
Salvet laeti comites
Orients regies tres
Puer nobis nascitur
Once in royal David's city
O come all ye faithful
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
God rest ye, merry gentlemen
We three kings
Unto us a boy is born
