Salsa
Thursday 14th December is our last meeting for 2023 - I am sure the years are getting shorter. All being well the group will re-start on 11th January 2024.
January is always a good time to start something new so why not try Salsa Dancing and the mental and physical benefits of fun and exercise in good company with the added bonus of a cup of tea and a lot of laughs.
The Salsa group meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays each month at St Ann's Hall Wendover, commencng at 2 pm for 2 hours with a tea/coffee break midway through the session. It is a very friendly and sociable group ensuring you exercise whilst having fun and more than a few laughs. Please refer to the Events Page for the dates up to Christmas.
There is always space in the group for new people to join us - do not worry if you have never danced salsa before because the group can be divided into beginners and improvers. No partners are necessary. It is a very social group and dance is a great way to exercise both mind and body. We ensure that the hall is well ventilated and follow Government Guidelines.
COMMENTS FROM LAST THURSDAY
"I think your class went very well. It was good to see everyone and get some formal exercise."
"I thought it was great! I couldn’t have asked for more. You managed to make it varied even though we were dancing without partners."
Some Comments from the Group
"Just had my first U3A Salsa class - it was great. Tony and Yvonne are very patient and thorough teachers and we were taken very slowly through the first basic steps until we had mastered them fully. We were shown by Tony and Yvonne what we could aspire to and it looked fun. It might help if a few more men could be persuaded to come along - nothing to fear the learning is very gentle!" C
"I went to my first super salsa sessions last Thursday. Tony and Yvonne demonstrate each step. It was great fun, a new skill, very sociable ..... and good exercise!" M
