Art 2
Purpose
We are a group of enthusiastic painters, informal and friendly.
We aim enjoy a couple of hours art activity with a group of like-minded people, and hopefully to pick up a few tips to try at home. Members of the group use watercolour, pencil drawing, pastels and other art materials.
Format
We choose a theme for each session and produce something of our own choice based on that theme. If you do not want to follow the theme you can choose any subject of interest to you. Occasionally we look at ways to help us develop particular skills and techniques. Members of the group are asked to suggest subjects or techniques to learn or practice, all suggestions are included in our programme. Most people are painting with watercolours although anyone is welcome to come along and enjoy painting or drawing in their own style.
When and Where?
We meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 2.00pm to 4.00pm at Halton Village Hall. This is a lovely venue for art. Spacious, light and warm
New members - At the moment (November 2023) Art 2 is can take a small number of new members. Please contact the convenors via the website if you would like to join.
Art 2 has created a beginner's section with a dedicated helper to assist people completely new to painting. Help will be provided for drawing and setting out. Then advice can be given on choosing paint, paper, brushes and other materials.
If you have never ventured into Art here is an opportunity to get started. New members of the group will meet on the same days as everyone else but will sit apart so that you will not feel intimidated by our more experienced members. This section has proved to be very popular. Recent new members have enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and appreciated the help we have been able to provide.
Cost -
We aim to just cover the cost of hiring the hall, so each session is £2.50.
If you would like more information or to be added to the waiting list please contact the convenor by email, just use the "Click to send a message" on the right-hand side of this page.
