Rummikub

Rummikub is a tile-based game for two to four players, combining elements of rummy (the card game) and mah-jong. There are 104 number tiles in the game (valued 1-13 in four different colours, two sets of each) and two jokers.
Players have 14 tiles initially and take turns putting down tiles from their racks into sets (groups or runs) of at least three, drawing a tile if they cannot play. The first player to use all their tiles scores a positive score based on the total of the other players’ hands, while the losers get negative scores. An important feature of the game is that players can work with the tiles that have already been played.

We meet at 2.00pm on the third Thursday of the month in different peoples’ houses, usually for about two hours. At the moment we have two sets of Rummikub so can have up to eight people playing.

Would you like to join us? You can come as a visitor for up to two meetings before you decide. Membership of Wem and District U3A is required if you join.
