This page will help to keep you informed of our upcoming meetings and other organised events. For information on interest group activities, please refer to the group pages - these will often give more specific details of their meetings and activities.
We hold our monthly general meetings in Wem Town Hall on the first Tuesday of the month, where all are welcome. The meeting room will be open at 10.00am for a 10.30am start. Each month we usually have various updates about our U3A, followed by a guest speaker (see below). There are no monthly meetings in January (New Year break) and August (holiday period).

|Tue Apr 7th||Meeting||General Meeting. There will be a talk by Shropshire Blood Bikes on the amazing work that is done by this vital charity; an Emergency Volunteer Service that provides urgent transportation of blood products for free, to NHS hospitals across Shropshire, Staffordshire & Cheshire.|
|Tue May 5th||Meeting||General meeting. Talk on 'Music-brass tubes' by Cecil Hayward. Cecil will inform and entertain us with a talk on several musical instruments and how you can produce and change the sound of them - a bit of science, with a bit of history. Accompanied by demonstrations of live music.|
|Tue Jun 2nd||Meeting||General Meeting and remembering the Swinging Sixties. Mike Watkins will give us a light hearted and fun look at people, things and events of the 1960’s. A bit of nostalgia as we ‘walk down memory lane’!|
|Tue Jul 7th||Meeting||General Meeting with a talk by Philip Caine. Philip is an author and international public speaker who has written a series of adventure novels featuring the character Jack Castle. Widely travelled and with a varied career, Philip’s stories have been informed by his own life experiences.|

|Tue Sep 1st||Meeting||General Meeting with a talk by Dr Nigel Baker. Nigel is an archaeologist and has a wealth of information on a variety of topics including the one he will be talking to us about. We will ‘travel with him’ as he takes us on a fascinating ‘tour’ of underground Shrewsbury. We will hear about many hidden walls and places we would not usually see as we immerse ourselves in our normal trips to the town!|
