Jean’s Art Group Visit
There was a nice combination of industry, friendship and skill to greet us when we went to visit the Art Group.
On a lovely sunny afternoon, unusual for the norm this year, members were hard at work at their own topics.
Animals seemed a popular subject, but one adventurous member, Wendy, having produced some political red squirrels, reflecting past and present politicians, clearly a bit of a cartoonist. This was exhibited at the Bath & West Show.
Flowers, seaside and aircraft were among the other subjects.
Another Wendy had also exhibited a flower picture at the same show; clearly lots of talent in the group.
The standard was excellent, and on this occasion, anyway, the medium was watercolour.
Jean, living close to the Cathedral, showed us a painting she had completed, and had mounted, of some choirboys, which had been beautifully crafted.
Tea was provided at the worktables, but that did not stop a break in the enjoyable hard work for a bit of gossip.
If you are going to the Hog Roast this year, look out for more examples of the group’s work

All the original members are still with us and we have a waiting list, as the numbers are constrained by the available space.
