Avalon Marshes Walk

Walk from the Avalon Marshes Centre

Tuesday 13th July 2021

Leaders Nicky and Patsy

This was a relaxed afternoon walk. The weather was very pleasant - sunshine and not too hot.

17 walkers met at the Avalon Marshes Centre and we set off along the road to Shapwick Nature Reserve. Once in the nature reserve we were on a good wide gravel path beside the old canal so it was easy walking and lots of chat at a social distance. Some of the group branched off to see the Sweet Track or go to one of the bird hides, while the remainder of the group continued further along into the reserve. We stopped for a drink at our turn around point. The group all met back at the Marshes Hub Café and were able to sit at tables in the shade or under an umbrella for cream teas or cake and a welcome cup of tea.

Good to be walking again with friends!
