Visit to BBC
Twenty two of our members visited the BBC studios at the Mailbox in Birmingham on the 18th January. Most of us travelled to Birmingham by train from Wellington station as New Street is only a few minutes walk from The Mailbox.
----- We had a guided tour of the studios which included a visit to the TV control room, a walk through the vast offices and the studio where the local news is filmed. We also visited the radio station ----- and even took part in a special radio drama which was recorded for us to keep. All ----- around the complex there are memorabilia and props from past BBC programmes. The timeline of The Archers was of particular interest to several members of the group who have been loyal listeners from the start of the show. We even saw a few of the news presenters as we passed through the building. It was a really informative and enjoyable experience.
