Wellingborough & District

u3a Day

Our first ever national u3a day is Wednesday 2 June 2021.

U3a day is planned to maximise the opportunity to raise our profile nationally as well as locally. Wellingborough u3a are currently making plans to join in this celebration of the u3a - please check back here for further news.

Your chance to get involved in u3a Day

u3a Day is set to celebrate the new experiences that come from being in your third age ( no longer in full time employment or bringing up children). The annual event will challenge the preconceptions of what being an older adult means.

Craft flowers 2
One of our plans for raising the profile of Wellingborough and District u3a is to make handmade cards with a blue and yellow handcrafted flower.

The cards will be available in public places such as doctor’s surgeries and libraries for people to take home. The reverse side of the card will have contact details for our u3a.

Craft flowers 1
Lots of our members have already been creating flowers by crocheting, knitting, needle felting, painting, linoprinting and embroidery - click on the photo to enlarge it.

We would love to have lots more flowers!

The flowers need to be created in the u3a colours of blue and yellow and measure no more than 5cm across.

We are sure you will have other ideas for making some u3a Day flowers.

Please send your creations to Julie Williams by Monday 17th May - for further details of how to do this, email her using this link - Groups Co-ordinator

We look forward to seeing your creations!
