A Warm Welcome To The Weald U3A!
We are a vibrant U3A group established in 2009 and encompass the beautiful villages and towns of the Lower Weald. Our membership currently stands at 155.
Our members enjoy a wide variety of interest groups, monthly meetings with guest speakers, visits and outings and a range of social events. Our interest groups are held in a variety of venues in both Tenterden and surrounding villages.
Weald U3A welcomes members with disabilities and aims to provide a friendly and inclusive environment where everyone can attend meetings and get involved with group activities. (See our Access Statement by clicking on the link.) If you'd like to find out more about access to a particular venue, or have any other query about any of our activities, please send a message to the relevant group leader or one of our Committee members (more details are on the Contacts page)
The monthly meeting is open to all members and is held in Tenterden. This takes place, usually, on the first Friday of each month between 2.30 - 4.30pm except in January, July and August. We normally have a guest speaker, discuss items of general or group interest over a cup of tea and we warmly welcome new members and visitors. To find out what's on and to confirm the dates, please have a look at our EVENTS page. Do come along, it's a great way to meet people, share interests and make new friends.
Members are encouraged to share the running of Weald U3A and suggestions for new groups always receive support and advice from our Group Co-ordinator.
We are financed by an annual membership subscription (see the JOINING section highlighted above) which pays for our hall hire, speakers, equipment and running costs. There is no charge so simply come along and enjoy one of our meetings, find out more about us and see what you think!
