What we do: We perform traditional songs and contemporary songs written in a traditional style from across the world. This group is for singers and musicians whether they are experienced or inexperienced. We aim to occasionally write new songs and we also research the deeper meaning and history of some songs.
You don’t need to be able to read music. We have a free-and-easy, fun ethos. We don’t sing in parts as we are not a choir, so everyone just pitches their voices wherever they can as in the best folk club – or pub - tradition. Everyone is welcome to suggest new songs within the main theme.
The group made its debut public performance at the Study Group Show in 2016, then under the name Folk Music of the British Isles (FMotBI). Here is the video :-
