Events Calendar

Monthly Meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month from 3.00pm - 5.00pm at St Luke's Church, Langley Way, Watford.

In addition to hearing a visiting speaker, this also provides members with an opportunity to pick up a copy of our monthly Newsletter, to hear the latest updates on forthcoming events and Study Group matters and socialise with other members over a cup of coffee.

March 2020
Mon Mar 9th	Outing	Outings group Lords Cricket Ground guided tour and lunch Cost £45 per person, to include travel, guided tour, Lords Tavern lunch and gratuities. Coach departs Essex Arms at 10.00am and subsequently leaves Lords to return at 3.30pm. To apply, use the booking form sent out with the January Newsletter.
Tue Mar 17th	Outing	Theatre group Tina - The Musical at Aldwych Theatre Cost £50 per person, to include Theatre ticket, coach hire and gratuity. Coach departs Essex Arms at 4.00pm (3.45pm for boarding). Show starts at 7.30pm, leaving time for members to make their own meal arrangements. Return coach departs at approx. 10.15pm. Trip is now fully booked. Reserve list only.

April 2020
Tue Apr 21st	Outing	Garden group Borde Hill Garden, West Sussex Coach departs Essex Arms at 08:30 and departs Borde Hill 16:00. Full details of the trip will be provided in the February newsletter. Bookings will be taken at the February main meeting. A booking form will be emailed with the February newsletter in advance of the meeting. For members not on email, booking forms will be available at the meeting. Payment by cheque only. Bookings will be accepted on a first come first served basis until the coach is full. Borde Hill is a stunningly beautiful and botanically rich heritage garden, set within over 200 acres of traditional parkland. The estate also features a Grade II listed Elizabethan Mansion house. We are arranging guided tours of both the house and garden and there will be time to explore the garden and grounds at one’s leisure.

Sat May 2nd	Social	The Rock Bottom Show - 60s music event especially for Watford Park U3A at Bushey Sports Club (Met Police Club), Aldenham Road. 7.30pm start. Fish & Chips supper (7.45pm). Pay bar. Ample parking. Music from 8.30pm. Tickets £12.50, on sale from the January monthly meeting on 28th Jan. Please note tickets will be limited because of the capacity of the Glindon Room. Buy early to avoid disappointment.
Thu May 7th	Outing	Theatre group Prince of Egypt matinee performance at The Dominion Theatre plus meal at Radisson Kenilworth Hotel Cost £64 per person to cover travel, show, 2 course meal with coffee and gratuities. Coach departs Essex Arms at 12.30pm (12.15pm for boarding). Return coach departs between 7.30 and 8pm. Trip is now fully booked. Reserve list only.
