Music Appreciation
We watch concerts that have been recorded onto a DVD commercially or from the BBC. The concerts are usually "themed" and we also watch documentaries about music, eg. the first performance of Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring". Programme notes are provided at the start of each meeting, and discussion is encouraged afterwards with regard to the music we have just heard. We listen to all music from Baroque to the 20th century. We now use You tube to see and hear classical concerts
