~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kurling is played on the badminton courts in the main sports hall. You don't need to bring your ice skates or sweeping brush as the "stones" run, not on ice, but on 3 ball bearing rollers.
A fun and easy to play game, Kurling provides an excellent way to meet and socialise with your fellow U3A colleagues, have a laugh with them and take part in a relaxed sporting activity for both able-bodied and less able-bodied people of all ages and abilities
The game is played by sending the ‘stones’ either by hand or using a pusher pole from one end of the badminton court to the bulls eye target located at the other end of the court. The target has red, white and blue concentric circles and scoring is determined by the number of stones closest to the centre of this target. Each game consists of a number of ends. The winner is the player/team with the highest number of scoring ‘stones’ at the finish of the game.
**We usually have a coffee afterwards in the leisure centre coffee shop
