There are a few vacancies for a coach outing to Attenborough Nature Reserve run by Nottingham Wildlife Trust, including an award winning Visitor/ Education Centre. The reserve has lakes, rivers, grassland, wetland, woodland and four bird hides. One hide close to the visitor centre overlooks an artificial nesting bank for sand martins so birds are seen at close quarters. There are live cameras and videos to watch in the centre and June is a good time to see lots of activity. Two other hides are within easy walking distance of the centre. There are three circular waymarked trails; paths are flat and surfaced round the reserve.
Travel The coach will pick us up at Tesco, Emscote Road, Warwick, CV34 5QJ, at 9.15 am, arriving back in Warwick about 5.00 pm.
The Centre: Barton Lane, Attenborough, Nottingham. The centre has a café, interactive displays, facilities and a shop. See the website for more information: http://www.attenboroughnaturecentre.co.uk/
Programme for the day: Talk and short guided tour from 11-12.30. Lunch can be obtained in the café or take a picnic. Explore the reserve after lunch at your own pace. Café available for snacks before we depart at 3.45 pm, returning home about 5.00 pm. Please note that refreshments/meals are not included in the cost. Bringing a drink and snack is recommended.
