If you have played squash and would like the fun and exercise again but in a gentler,
less competitive game, then English Rules Racketball should appeal to you. It is played
on a squash court but with a larger, bouncier ball and rackets with larger heads and
shorter handles. It is thus a gentler version of squash and is generally played in a less manic way.
The group is mixed and plays primarily for exercise rather than competitively.
We play every Tuesday at 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm, at the Leamington Tennis and Squash Club on
Guy’s Cliffe Road, Leamington.
The Club has kindly given us two courts block-booked at a cost of £1.00 per person.
Racketball is simple to learn and without any pushing the pace quickly gets to an aerobic level,
so players need to match their play with their fitness level and to understand the obvious risks.
For an initial session, you would only need to have non-marking footwear.
