Welcome to Warsop U3A

The University of the Third Age - is an international organisation providing educational, cultural and social opportunities for people who are retired or not in full-time employment. It encourages groups of like-minded people in their Third Age to remain active in their retirement and to continue with lifelong learning for pleasure. No qualifications are necessary to join - and none are given. See the link opposite Who We Are for a fuller narrative of who we are!

We meet every 2nd Monday of the month at the Tudor Barn, Parish Centre, Church Warsop at 10:15am until 12:15pm. It has car parking and disabled access. For those hard of hearing the front two rows of seating in the meeting room are reserved for their use. We have at present 115 members who pay an annual subscription to enjoy all the benefits of membership of this active and friendly organisation plus the benefits of the national U3A organisation. We can open the way for you to join in with continued learning at national summer schools and to participate in our interest groups where we co-operate for activities and hobbies. Our Interest Groups are only open to U3A members, so to enjoy what is on offer and if you are interested in joining Warsop U3A, you can use the button on the Contact page to ask for further details and to request an application form from the Membership Secretary or come along to one of our meetings as shown in the Notices column on this page were we will be happy to talk to you and introduce you to our members.

Things to Check on day of meetings - Bad Weather, Parking and One way system

If the weather is bad for the main meetings on the 2nd Monday of the month the meeting may be cancelled. Please check your emails from 8.00am onwards which will inform you that the meeting has been cancelled. Any member with no email will be phoned by a member of the committee as soon after 8.00am as possible. U3A Committee.

It has been noticed that some members are not aware of the one way system for getting in and out of the Tudor Barn car park. It is important that the one way system is followed because if you exit the car park the wrong way you cannot be seen by the cars that are leaving by the correct exit.

Membership

Timetable for Renewing Subscriptions for 2020/21

Due to the Coronavirus lockdown the committee have agreed that membership renewal will be suspended until Warsop & District U3A are able to hold meetings. Provisionally we are hoping to begin with our July meeting and membership fees will be due then, there will be the usual months grace to complete membership renewal. This is all dependent on the Government relaxing lockdown and also social distancing guidelines.

Warsop Old Hall Community Archaeology Project.

This project is not a U3A project, but it is open to the local community to be involved in. Unfortunately again this project is on hold until further notice

Warsop & District U3A Constitutions

Every member of Warsop & District U3A should have access to a copy of our constitution.
If you were a member at the time of last years AGM you would have received a copy, if you have mislaid your copy it can be found on the Warsop & District U3A website. If you have joined since last years AGM you will be given a copy as you sign in at the next meeting you attend

Warsop & District U3A is now a member of the NNNG (North Notts Network Group of U3A’s)

This means that you as a member of Warsop & District can ask to join an interest group in another U3A that is also in the NNNG.
Please note that joining another U3A’s interest group depends on whether there is space in the group. A U3A will give priority to its own members.
