New Legislation regarding Data Protection etc.
As a result of the introduction of GDPR (the General Data Protection Regulations) over the past few weeks many of us have received an absolute deluge of mail and emails from companies regarding how they deal with our personal information. The Third Age Trust and u3a branches also keep personal details of their members and therefore need to inform individuals how the u3a; records, maintains, stores and uses that information.
Your Chairman and other Committee members have attended seminars organized by the Third Age Trust, and several committee meetings have been held to formulate Warsop & District u3a's policies. The result of all of this is that Warsop & District u3a have now produced our own policies using as a template the Third Age Trusts sample policies.
The new policies are:-
General Data Protection; Equality & Diversity: Privacy; Code of Conduct; and Grievance & Disciplinary Procedures; Safeguarding Policy and Procedure.
All of these policies have now been agreed by your committee and were appropriate members have been provided with copies.
