Warsash Hampshire

Welcome to Warsash U3A

Charity Registration no 1181982

With a strong national heritage behind us Warsash U3A came into existence in January 2016. We have a wide membership base of retired and semi-retired people who are seeking to maintain an active lifestyle and wish to continue learning.

Although called a University this term is used by us in its widest sense, that is a group of people studying together, discussing an interest and sharing with others.

At Warsash U3A we pride ourselves on offering a variety of learning activities together with social events for members to join. We hope to encourage members to develop new hobbies and interests whilst sharing life experiences with others.

We focus on developing as many groups as we can where learning for enjoyment and fun takes place. We want to share in making retirement for our members more meaningful and enjoyable. We now have 39 Interest Groups and are keen to see this list grow further. We also offer a varied programme of events and visits. All of this run by our members at little cost.

Details of all Groups available can be found on this website.

We warmly welcome new members joining us from Warsash and the surrounding area.

We also offer a monthly meeting with a guest speakers who give interesting talks on a wide range of topics, and there is an opportunity to find out more about Interest Groups and socialise with us over coffee.

Monthly Meetings
Monthly meetings are held on the second Friday of each month from 1.45-4pm at VICTORY HALL, Warsash Road, Warsash. The Victory Hall is fitted with an Hearing Loop system which is fully operational.

'Café Society'
Cafe Society offers members a second place to meet for Refreshments each month at the Salterns Club Newtown Road. There is a chance to meet new friends, play cards and board games, join in discussions. A book borrow and exchange facility is available and there is also the initial pilot tutorial for iPad and iphone run by Rob.

Our ethos is to encourage a culture of sharing and participation, teaching and learning for pleasure. The organisation is run entirely by its members whether they are serving on the committee, providing administrative help, organising events and outings, or running Interest Groups.
