Bluegrass Music
Group Leader...Ian Moss
The Bluegrass Music Group is where banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, ukulele and harmonica players meet to play Bluegrass.
“UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO HIGH DEMAND THE LIST FOR NEWCOMERS TO THE BLUEGRASS GROUP IS CURRENTLY CLOSED. PLEASE MAIL ME IF YOU’RE INTERESTED AND I’LL ADD YOU TO THE WAITING LIST”
As we aim to make this a ‘proper’ jamming session it is likely that we will have to limit the numbers to ensure soloists are not being drowned out by too many other instruments. It is possible that the group may be over-subscribed and we'll have a waiting list so please make contact before turning up.
A knowledge of jamming etiquette would also be very useful (i.e. knowing when to play softly in the background when others are taking a solo break and to be able to recognise the signals from the lead player/singer when the tune is to end etc.).
It will be fully acoustic instruments with no amplification with the potential exception of a bass guitar to keep us all in check!
The music we enjoy will give us lots of material to learn and a fantastic and fun way to progress with our instruments.
Access to the music tabs will be via dropbox and you’ll be encouraged to use a tablet although we will have some hard copies available for new members to try.
We meet in The Club-Burtonwood, Phipps Lane, Burtonwood, Warrington WA5 4HQ on alternate Wednesday afternoons from 1.30 – 3.30pm.
