Warrington u3a AGM 5th June 2024

Our AGM will take place on Wednesday 5th June.

The Chair and Secretary are both stepping down and these roles MUST be filled for us to continue into next year. Please be aware if no one comes forward to fill the position of Chair and Secretary then Warrington u3a could cease to operate after the AGM.

We have been inviting members to join us in committee meetings over the last couple of months to get first-hand experience of the work involved, as the closing date for nominations for the next Executive Committee is fast approaching. If you can offer your time to help please get in touch as soon as possible.

Nominations need to be submitted at least 21 days before the AGM. A Nomination Form is available to download which must be signed by the Nominee, Proposer and Seconder, who must all be current members of Warrington u3a.

Proposals for Resolutions to be considered at the AGM must be submitted in writing to the Secretary, signed, proposed and seconded by other current members of Warrington u3a.

Celebrate Our Activities!

After our AGM, we will be celebrating some of the wonderful activities we’ve enjoyed throughout the year. There will be illustrative displays around the room plus a continuous programme of short performances from our music and dance groups.

Watch this splendid entertainment whilst you enjoy your tea, coffee and biscuits. We look forward to seeing you there.

Please note the AGM starts at 1:30pm

General Meetings

All members are welcome to come to our General Meetings. These are held at 2pm on the first Wednesday of most months at the Winmarleigh Rooms, Winmarleigh House, Winmarleigh Street, WA1 1NB.

There is usually a talk by an invited speaker. Afterwards there is a chance to socialise with other members over tea or coffee and biscuits, and to talk to group leaders and committee members.

easyfundraising

We all know that prices for everything are going up. This includes our u3a, where the costs of the venues have all increased. To counteract this we can either reduce outgoings or increase income. The committee have been busy trying to reduce outgoings and looking for ways to increase income. easyfundraising is one possible way to get extra income and help limit any increases in our subs next year. Did you know that whenever you buy anything online — from your weekly shop to your annual holiday — you could be raising free donations for Warrington U3A with easyfundraising?
