Mah Jong

Group Leader Clare Lancaster

Welcome to the Mah Jong Group. Meetings are held on the first and third Monday of the month, from 1.30 to 3.30 pm in the Hall at the Fairfield Community Project in Fairfield Street – so car parking is available.

Mah Jong is a Chinese game played with small tiles and has similarities to the card game Rummy. It is a fun, sociable game which will use your grey cells and is very addictive – you have been warned!

Both beginners and players are welcome – you do not need a partner to play. However, if you do have a Mah Jong set, please bring it along.

A very comprehensive set of rules has been produced by U3A member Susan Fifer, for use with U3A Mah Jong groups and can be found by googling Mah Jong – U3A site builder.

Know the Game: Mah-Jong (3rd edition) – £6.99 (e.g. available from Amazon).

If you would like to join the group or register for email updates, please contact Clare using the link at the top right-hand side of the page.
