NEXT MEETING : WEDNESDAY 15th MAY - Discussion on 'Truth about Shakespeare's Tyrants'
Following our meeting on 3rd April when Jackie (Starkey) talked to us about her take on Shakespeare's Tyrants, Anne-Marie is doing a short presentation on those covered by Jackie for us to discover the truth behind the villains portrayed by Shakespeare.

OUR PREVIOUS MEETING : WEDNESDAY 17th APRIL 2019 - Chester Storyhouse
Just thought I would give an update on our very interesting visit to Chester Storyhouse. I don't think we've been to a more community based theatre than this one. The original building was the old Odeon cinema which had been renovated and incorporated the library - so there were books all round this building as well as computer stations situated everywhere, including a vast open space where there was a mezzanine floor running all the way round and looking down on a café area which had comfy seats as well as table. Upstairs there was a small cinema which was showing Dumbo for the children at 11am and the quiet spaces for the library goers. The children's area was an added bit where old shop fronts had been left to get loads of light into the converted children's library with storytelling going on when we first arrived. It was vibrant and full of people everywhere.

The Theatre was a new build added at the back of the old cinema and nicely furbished, opened by the Queen and Meghan last June - from the photo opposite, you can get an idea of the main auditorium. Hope this gives you a flavour of what we saw, well worth a visit if you can manage to get there. Warrington could learn a lot from it (as we kept telling our hosts).

WHERE WE MEET:
Our group meets in the Lounge in Bold Street Methodist Church Hall [from Bold Street, through the second back entrance—not the Cafe entrance—to the 2nd Floor, (there is a lift) through double doors then the room on your right every:

We start the meetings with a coffee/tea and discuss the lists of what's on at local theatres and Cinema Screenings of plays at the Odeon Westbrook and Cineworld Runcorn as well as local Amateur Dramatics. Its then down to the subject of the day - see diary below.
