The Group Leader is Stuart Miller.
The French group normally met every Tuesday at 2:00pm in the Fairfield Neighbourhood Centre situated in Fairfield Street Warrington. Since the advent of Covid-19, these meetings stopped in March 2020 and there is, as yet, no planned date for them to recommence.
We are a ‘self-help’ group and our meetings used to follow many and varied routes, from grammar to games, literature to life-style. We would use a mixture of resources including audio, video, and the printed word. Every member of the group was invited (though definitely NOT obliged) to present a lesson or part of a lesson. Our level of knowledge is fair, though not extensive, but you may struggle for a while if you are an absolute beginner — but don’t let that deter you! As leader of the group, I am often surprised, sometimes flattered, at group members’ expectations regarding my ability, but it’s all fun and we wouldn’t continue to do it if it weren’t (note the use of the subjunctive here!). As a result of current circumstances, virtual meetings will take place via Zoom, and this will continue at least until January 2021.
We are a friendly group and new members are always welcome. If you have ever thought about learning or improving your French (though after Brexit you might question why) then come and join us.
