Garden Interest
Group Leader is Ann Atkinson
The Garden Interest Group is for people who are interested in gardens and gardening.
Events are usually held on a Friday, although this does vary to suit the seasons and availability of venues. During the spring to autumn months we usually visit gardens of interest and in the winter we arrange talks. We also at times arrange 'hands on' workshops.
At the beginning of the year the committee members meet to discuss and draw up the programme for the following year. If any group members know of a particularly interesting garden to visit, an interesting speaker, or have ideas for events that might be of interest to the group, please discuss these with a member of the Garden Interest Group Committee.
For a copy of the programme and contact details of the committee members, click on the link on this page and enter the 'user name' and 'password' from your WU3A membership card.
Indoor talks are usually in the Hall at Winmarleigh House on Fridays at 1.30pm. We normally make a £2 charge to cover the tea/coffee and biscuits.
For visits, the dates when bookings commence are given on the programme below. If you need any further information, please contact the committee member who is the organiser for that particular event. To make a booking, unless otherwise advised, please send a cheque (made payable to 'Warrington U3A Social Account') for full payment to the Treasurer, Marie Baird, whose address can be found on the Garden Interest Group programme card.
Most of the costs quoted are final prices, and as many of our trips are fully booked you are advised to book early. We often keep a waiting list, so if the event is fully booked please contact the organiser if you wish to your name to be placed on the list.
