General Meetings

All members are welcome to come to our General Meetings. These are held at 2pm on the first Wednesday of most months at the Winmarleigh Rooms, Winmarleigh House, Winmarleigh Street, WA1 1NB.

There is usually a talk by an invited speaker. Afterwards there is a chance to socialise with other members over tea or coffee and biscuits, and to talk to group leaders and committee members.

See below for the details of forthcoming general meetings and any social events.

Members of the Executive Committee will also be available before the meetings (from about 11.00) to answer any questions you may have about WU3A matters (including the roles required on the Executive Committee) and to offer advice on any of the equipment used in giving presentations. Group leaders should also be available after the talk to advise members about their group’s activities. We look forward to seeing you.

Due to the constraints of social distancing, it is currently only possible to seat about 100 people in the main room. Since we cannot be certain of numbers wishing to attend, it might not be possible for everyone who turns up to be able to find a seat to hear the talk. However, it should still be possible to find somewhere to sit in one of the other rooms until the talk is over. Although you would miss the talk, you would then be free to join everyone else as we break up and mingle for refreshments.

The staff at Winmarleigh House would prefer it if visitors would wear face masks while moving around the building, but they will be optional when seated in the function rooms. Please feel free to wear a mask at all times if you prefer, but please be sensitive to others who find wearing them uncomfortable. For obvious reasons we ask that you do not attend if you are suffering from any of the symptoms of Covid or have been in contact with anyone else who has.

Special or irregular events organised by groups can be found on each individual group page.
