At the end of January, we went to
Salisbury Playhouse to see the
musical Mame starring Tracie Bennett
in the title role. Set in New York
around the time of the Great
Depression it was a brilliant production
with colourful characters and excellent
singing and dancing, enjoyed by us all.
Our next visit to Salisbury at the end of
February was to see a play by Lorca -
Blood Wedding. Set in a Wiltshire
village in modern times it tells of the
ups and downs of planning a wedding
reception. Well-acted with various
mentions of towns and villages familiar
The Athenaeum have contacted us to
tell us that they are planning to
reschedule the Limelight Players
production of “The Railway Children”
to August. Our tickets will be moved
to Friday 21st August. If this isn’t
convenient for anyone, they would be
happy to offer a refund or a seat other
performances. We haven’t received
any information about “Oliver” yet. We
have also been in contact with the
Mayflower Theatre regarding their
productions and they will be arranging
refunds in the future.
On 5 December four of us went to Bath to see Ten Times Table an Alan Ayckbourn comedy. It was very amusing and had some very good characters.
Our next outing is to see Mame in Salisbury.
