French (Conversation) 1
We are continuing to meet on a Tuesday afternoon. In December we came together with the Thursday group for a combined pre-Christmas party at the Buckingham’s home. Members provided mulled wine (soft drinks also available) and a variety of party foods were served.
We were very happy to welcome our old tutor, Jane, to the party as well as our new tutor, Brendan. Jane really enjoyed seeing us all again but said although she misses our company, she now spends a lot more time in France with her family so will not be able to join the group(s) again.
This month (January) Brendan gave us a list of parts of the body and useful phrases (hopefully we will not be using it to discuss our ailments).
We could probably accommodate one more member into the group.
FRENCH CONVERSATION 1 (Tuesday group)
Now that the Christmas rush is over, Brendan has been able to rejoin our group as our tutor. We welcomed a new member in March – some of us already knew her from our working days. We meet at Ingrid’s home and discuss all sorts of things (trying to avoid Brexit) and often have a good laugh. It is amazing what topics sometimes come up – one lady confessing she has special underwear to pass through airport security (i.e. no underwiring!) Some of us will have the opportunity to practice our French when we visit our twin town of Flers at the end of April. We are a small friendly group and there is a small charge for tea and biscuits.
