Scrabble

We play both conventional Scrabble and also the game of “Upwords”. The latter involves placing letters on top of existing letters to make new words. It requires an adjustment of thought but offers a new challenge.
Scrabble needs no explanation. We don't frown on the use of dictionaries! However, modern dictionaries include new words which have been adopted into everyday speech as our language develops, and some players find this hard to accept. We tend to take a relaxed attitude but are more than happy to accommodate people with different views. So why not come along and join us – it gives your brain a work out and is fun as well!
We are a small group with players of mixed ability. We welcome beginners and those who have been players for a long time.
We meet monthly on the 4th Friday in the month at 2.00 pm, at Linda's home (where space is limited, so please contact her if you would like to come along).
