Group co-ordinator: Linda Thompson - contact by email using the form on the CONTACT page
We meet monthly on the 1st Wednesday in each month at 10.00 am, at Linda's house (please email for details).
We are not a book group. Most U3As have a Literature Special Interest Group and follow the traditional concept. They will select a book to be read by the members before the next meeting when it will be discussed, each member giving their opinions, interpretations etc. Our Literature Group differs greatly from the norm – we do not research a particular book, but look into the various genres of literature, style, composition etc. Most months we take a selected topic - subjects vary enormously from humour, adventure, romance, conflict, of both fiction and non-fiction, a particular author or theme - and each bring our own selection for the group to discuss. Only occasionally do we read and discuss an complete book. At least one of our members first went along to a meeting out of curiosity (as he claims he very rarely reads a book!), and now thoroughly enjoys listening and learning. Why not come along for a ‘taster’?
Currently this group are holding virtual meetings on Zoom. If you would like to join a group, please contact the group leader (details on the back of your programme card).
