Ambles

AMBLES Open to all members

Ambles take place on the fourth Thursday of the month (except in December and August) and each walk is planned and led by a different volunteer. The walks are between 4 and 6 miles, and mostly within the Freedom Pass area, sometimes urban, sometimes more rural. Members are welcome to simply turn up on the day. No dogs, please. Full details of the walk and meeting place will be emailed out by U3A in advance of each walk. Kelly Jones is the Ambles Group Co-ordinator – please email using the above icon if you need more information.

Dates for your Diary
Thu Oct 24th Leader: Adrienne

This promises to be an interesting, and possibly surprising, relatively short walk (3-4 miles) starting not far from home. We will walk from Vauxhall, through Kennington Park and on to the delights of Burgess Park, where we can have lunch in the café or eat our own food outside. (The café might be quite busy as it will be Half Term). To return home, buses run from Burgess Park to Elephant and Castle (connection to Northern Line) or Peckham (Overground to Clapham Junction). For those wanting a longer walk, another couple of miles, there will be an optional extension, as yet un-reconnoitred, to Southwark Park, returning from Canada Water.

Please meet at 10.45 near the entrance to Vauxhall Underground Station. Nearby Vauxhall Bus Station has public loos, for which you may need to pay. There may be loos open in Kennington Park, and definitely will be in Burgess Park.

The Amble is open to all members, and you are not expected to let us know whether you are coming or not. Just turn up on the day.
Thu Nov 28th Amble - details to be confirmed.
