Garden Studies

We are interested in the development of and changes to garden design and especially the changes in planting and layout. We enjoy looking at plants and their history. We look at historic homes and gardens to see how they have altered over the years not only in the UK but across the world (Monty Don dvds are excellent material).

We try to have two garden or nursery visits a year depending on members’ interests. We have visited several local gardens as well as more well known ones such as the Chelsea Physic Garden and Myddleton House.

Our group is friendly and informal and we enjoy our discussions. No prior knowledge is required but you should be interested in gardening to participate and enjoy fully.
