We have a two stage approach to our programme of looking at art. The first is based on excellent theme based, well illustrated, series of lectures on a range of subjects. It includes schools of art, regional art history and the collections of particular galleries.
The second is the showing of a whole range of art based programmes which involve particular exhibitions from a wide range of galleries, the life and work of individual painters, art related themes for example impressionism and the history of art development.
Both showings stimulate discussion and debate over a cup of tea or coffee.
We don’t organise trips to exhibitions as a group as we're not all able to get into town easily. But individual members obviously visit galleries from time to time and the group is enriched by their experience when the subjects coincide.
