A NEW BEGINNERS GROUP!
Wadhurst U3A Ballroom Dancing Group has continued with just four dancers for many months now. This small group are the remainder of the twenty-odd dancers who joined the Ballroom Dancing when it first began. Having been taught by our brilliant, highly skilled and experienced dance instructor Keit Allen for about three years, they have reached an intermediate standard. In response to requests to join the group, we shall start a new beginners class starting on Monday 9th September 2019.
Both classes will take place on Mondays at Bells Yew Green Village Hall. The intermediate class will keep their usual time of 1.30 pm. The beginners class will take place at a time to be announced shortly.
The lessons cost £40 each, to cover the hire of the hall and Keith’s fee. This is divided proportionally between participants over a block of six lessons. You must pay in advance for a block of six lessons, signing up for as many lessons as you want out of the six, and paying only for these. If over the block of six lessons, the average attendance of a lesson is 4.5, the cost per person for a class is 40/4.5 = £8.89 for that block of six.
The following dances are covered: waltz, foxtrot, quickstep, tango, rumba and ch-cha-cha plus the occasional samba and jive. We learn (necessarily) by repetition so it does not better if you miss a few lesson. Keith is as patience as he is expert.
If you are interested in joining an enjoyable activity which benefits you balance, movement, coordination and memory, please contact the convenor, Philip Cheung using the Blue Bird link on this page.
