October 17th Amble will be different !!
ONLY 3 PLACES LEFT AS AT 9th OCT
English Nature have agreed to take us on a tour of Chartley Moss, the Moss consists of a 3 metre layer of Sphagnum Moss floating on 13 metres of water, it is eerily dramatic with drowned trees poking through the ground. Many years ago David Bellamy presented a TV programme from the site which is a Nature Reserve and SSSI.
There will not be a great deal of walking, few, if any stiles and the duration will be about 2 hours.
English Nature charges £5 per person for this Amble and numbers will be restricted to 20 I need names (first come first served) and ideally cash in advance. Amblers get priority.
There is the Castlewood Café (Formerly Kate’s) just down the road and we can have a cup of tea and a butty or light lunch there afterwards.
Meet at Bramshall Road Car Park at 9.30 for car share.
Bring your camera.
Detail of the walks are also posted on the notice board in Wilfred House.
Note that there is no group fee to attend this group.
