Welcome to Uckfield U3A
Welcome to Uckfield U3A which was formed in the Autumn of 1997 to offer learning, leisure and social activities for retired and semi-retired people of Uckfield and the surrounding areas. We are part of a world wide organisation which began in France in 1972 and there are now more than 40 U3A groups in Sussex.
Uckfield U3A has currently around 450 members and we offer over 60 different activities. These are self-help groups, each led by an enthusiastic member, and they give an excellent way of following new interests and making new friends.

Membership is open to anyone who is retired or semi retired living in Uckfield and the surrounding area. Our membership fee is low, just £10 per year, which entitles you to attend the monthly meetings and join as many activities as you wish. To join, click the "Membership Application Form 2019/20" above, to download the form, then print out, fill in the form and post to the Membership Secretary enclosing your cheque for £10 and a A5 size stamped addressed envelope. Alternatively, you can join at the monthly meetings.
If you would like to hear more about Uckfield U3A please come to one of our coffee get-togethers in the Picture House Restaurant. We usually meet on a Wednesday morning, two days before our monthly meetings. You will be met and welcomed by our members, and be given answers to any of your queries regarding our U3A. Dates of these coffee mornings may be found on the "Diary Dates" page.
Our monthly meetings are held in the Weald Hall, Civic Centre, Uckfield and doors open at 1:30pm. Non-members who do not wish to join the U3A immediately, are always welcome and a small donation of £1 will be greatly appreciated.
We extend a warm welcome to our new members and hope you enjoy our U3A. If you are interested in a group please ring the Vice Chairwoman for details and if you join a group please let the leader know before each meeting whether you will be attending or are not able to. Also please let them know if you decide to leave the group as this may allow someone on the waiting list to join.
