Welcome to Uckfield u3a
Welcome to Uckfield u3a which was formed in the Autumn of 1997 to offer learning, leisure and social activities for retired and semi-retired people of Uckfield and the surrounding areas. We are part of a world wide organisation which began in France in 1972 and there are now more than 40 u3a groups in Sussex.
Uckfield u3a has currently around 450 members and we offer over 50 different activities. These are self-help groups, each led by an enthusiastic member, and they give an excellent way of following new interests and making new friends.
Membership is now open for new and renewing members. Please download the Membership form using the link below.
Download the Membership App. Form 2021/22
Membership is open to anyone who is retired or semi retired living in Uckfield and the surrounding area. Our membership fee is low, just £15 per year, which entitles you to attend the monthly meetings and join as many activities as you wish. To join, click the "Membership Application Form 2021/22" above, download the form, then print out, fill in the form and post to the Membership Secretary enclosing your cheque for £15 and a stamped addressed envelope. Alternatively, you can join at the monthly meetings.
We welcome new and existing members to Uckfield u3a and hope you will enjoy being a member.
WHAT WE OFFER
We have over 50 activity groups covering a wide range of interests. These are run by our members, in most cases, in their homes. There are details about the interest groups and the times they meet on our website but due to the current virus situation, these may be subject to change.
We have a meeting each month on the first Friday, (except December when our Christmas Quiz is on the first Thursday) in the Weald Hall, Civic Centre, at 2:00pm (doors open at 1:30pm). At these meetings you’ll hear of our latest activities and there are talks which are varied and given by very good speakers. All members are welcome and so are visitors (who are asked to make a small donation of £1).
